Happy First Friday

It was great seeing so many parents at the Parent Meetings last night.  If you were unable to attend or would like to relive the thrilling presentation we have uploaded both the beginner meeting and the 7th/8th grade meeting to our Facebook page.  I dare you to try to count the UM’s.  My speech teacher would be horrified!

Beginner Brass and Woodwind parents you should see your students working on two major skills this weekend, Counting Charts and Note Flash Cards.  Your student will have a speed test on Tuesday over their Flash Cards.  Our goal for them it to get 100% in 10 seconds.  When they are practicing counting it should be LOUD and you should hear pulses…think Lamaze Breathing with numbers! One-un, two-oo, three-ee, Four-or…BABY!  We are super proud of how hard our beginners have been working!

Beginner Percussion parents your young percussionist should be creating both their note charts and rest charts from memory.

7th/8th Grade parents your students should be practicing their new music/old music (Fight Song and Land of 1000 Dances) for our upcoming performances.  You should hear them counting their music and playing it slowly with a metronome.

Remember no school on Monday!
