Parents, We are midway through our fundraiser! We need everyone’s participation to reach our goal! Your support is not limited to the brochures. Go to www.gaschoolstore.com use our ID# 3176013 to support us through online shopping. Let’s make this our best fundraiser yet.
Proceeds from our fundraiser help support the private lesson scholarship fund, hire clinicians for our band students, offset the cost of NRH2O, and much more!
It was great seeing so many parents at the Parent Meetings last night. If you were unable to attend or would like to relive the thrilling presentation we have uploaded both the beginner meeting and the 7th/8th grade meeting to our Facebook page. I dare you to try to count the UM’s. My speech teacher would be horrified!
Beginner Brass and Woodwind parents you should see your students working on two major skills this weekend, Counting Charts and Note Flash Cards. Your student will have a speed test on Tuesday over their Flash Cards. Our goal for them it to get 100% in 10 seconds. When they are practicing counting it should be LOUD and you should hear pulses…think Lamaze Breathing with numbers! One-un, two-oo, three-ee, Four-or…BABY! We are super proud of how hard our beginners have been working!
Beginner Percussion parents your young percussionist should be creating both their note charts and rest charts from memory.
7th/8th Grade parents your students should be practicing their new music/old music (Fight Song and Land of 1000 Dances) for our upcoming performances. You should hear them counting their music and playing it slowly with a metronome.
Remember no school on Monday!
As the saying goes it takes a village. We have several volunteer opportunities throughout the school year. Without your help we simply can’t get it all done. On the CHARMS calendar you will see dates where volunteers are needed marked with a rainbow hand. If you clink on this hand it will take you to the volunteer sign-up page. You can also sign up via our SIGNUP GENIUS <—– click there!
On Saturday, the 26th of August, the Wilson Band Hall will be open from 10 am – 3 pm to allow all band students to put their instruments and band supplies in their band lockers prior to the first day of school. We hope this will lighten the load that our Wildcat Band students will have on day one of school. After all…a trombone case is almost impossible to accessorize with new school clothes!
Beginner parents: If your instrument was delivered to the band hall, you and your child are welcome to come to the band hall and put your child’s instrument and supplies in their band locker
School owned instruments have been assigned and will be available to be put in lockers. Students may still come and pick their locker and place their band supplies in said locker. This is also a great time to bring back your summer instruments!
There will not be any access to any other part of the school! Please park in the back parking lot and enter through door #18.
On this page you will find quick hit news stories regarding upcoming events. I will try to keep these much shorter than my emails….no promises! I hope this feature of the website will serve to keep you more informed!
